Sacroiliac Compression Test / Sacroiliac Distraction Test 본문
Sacroiliac Compression Test
Purpose
The Sacroiliac Joint (SIJ) Compression Test or “Approximation Test” is a pain provocation test which stresses the SIJ structures, in particular, the posterior SIJ ligament, to attempt to replicate a patient’s symptoms (Laslett and Williams; 1994)
Technique
The patient is side-lying and the examiner's hands are placed over the upper part of the iliac crest (장골능), pressing toward the floor. The movement causes forward pressure on the sacrum. An increased feeling of pressure in the sacroiliac joints indicates a possible sacroiliac lesion and /or a sprain of the posterior sacroiliac ligaments. A positive result is indicated by pain or replication of the patient’s symptoms
Negative Test: No pain or pain other than patient's pain reproduction
환자를 옆으로 눕히고 의사가 장골능부위에 손을 데고 천골을 향해 압박하여 눌렀을 때 통증이 재현되면 양성.

Sacroiliac Distraction Test
Description and Purpose
The SIJ (Sacroiliac Joint) Distraction (Colloquially know as Gapping) test is used to add evidence, positive or negative, to the hypotheses of an SIJ sprain or dysfunction when used in the Laslett SIJ Cluster testing. This test stresses the anterior sacroiliac ligaments. This test has also been described as the Transverse Anterior Stress Test or the Sacroiliac Joint Stress Test.
Technique
The patient lies supine and the examiner applies a vertically orientated, posteriorly directed force to both the anterior superior iliac spines (ASIS). A test is positive if it reproduces the patient's symptoms. This indicates SIJ dysfunction or a sprain of the anterior sacroiliac ligaments.
